The Antonius Players, featuring Louis De Bernieres, will be bringing the best in children's entertainment to Shrewsbury when they present Nightingales, Elephants & Alexander Beetle at The Lion Hotel on Sunday, November 25.
Acclaimed author Louis De Bernieres is probably best known for his novel Captain Correlli's Mandolin.
On this occasion he will be joined "by his musical ensemble, The Antonius Players, to bring the world of animals and nature alive.
A series of poems chosen by Louis will be complemented by music in a variety of styles and performed by a mix of different instruments based around the original flute trio.
Louis will be joining the musical performance displaying his skills on the mandolin and guitar.
The show was first performed to high acclaim at the 2006 Hay-on-Wye Literature Festival and was also well received at this year's Edinburgh Festival.
After the performance there will be the opportunity to have tea with the artists, as well as a book signing with Louis himself.
The show starts at 3pm and tickets can be purchased on the day priced £6 adults and £3 children.
